Founded in 2019 by MacArthur “Genius Grant” Fellow, Shamel Pitts, TRIBE is a multidisciplinary arts collective inspired by Afrofuturism. Their disciplines include movement based work, live multidisciplinary performance, video art, video documentary, photography, exhibition, commissioned dance choreography, art residency, and workshops, with a particular focus on supporting artists of color.
